In August, 1980, a Saudi Arabian Airlines
Lockheed L-1011 burned on the runway.
All 301 passengers and crew were killed.

On the morning of November 21, 1980,
84 people died and 679 were injured 
as a result of a fire. This was the 
second largest life-loss hotel fire 
in United States history.
